Casual Outfit Idea & My Healthy Lifestyle Journey

Anyone else out there on a healthy lifestyle journey? Whether it’s eating right, being more active, losing weight, gaining muscle? I really wanted to focus today’s post on my healthy lifestyle journey because it’s something that I have been spending a lot of time working on. I want to use this post as a way to update you guys on my journey, give you some advice or tips if you’re starting your journey and just talk a little about it! I hope you enjoying seeing a sneak peek into my life as well as a cute outfit!

Before we hop into talking about my healthy lifestyle journey, I wanted to share this adorable and casual outfit with y’all today. It’s great for those warmer winter days or going into spring! I know I’ll be wearing this cardigan everywhere when the days are warmer! It’s been one of my go-to’s!

One of the main reasons I wanted to talk about my healthy lifestyle journey today is because of blogging. It seems to me and many others that nowadays when you are a fashion blogger there is a stereotype that you must be skinny, tall, and have perfect teeth and hair or else your blog won’t be successful. Sadly, there are days where I feel this is true and other days I find amazing women breaking this stereotype and producing amazing content on their blogs. Before I began my healthy lifestyle journey I found myself comparing my body o others that are in the fashion blogging community. I have large hips, short legs, a wider frame. I’m not built to be a size 0 and wear xs and I don’t think there should be anything wrong with that! Of course, that’s not to put down any woman who is that size because every woman’s body type should be celebrated.

Which brings me to the start of my healthy lifestyle journey. I wasn’t necessarily going into my journey with a healthy mindset. I wanted to lose weight and look like all of those bloggers and women on Pinterest in their perfect workout outfit at their spin class. Which, shocker, wasn’t the best idea. I soon realized I wasn’t going to see the results I wanted and be happy with my progress if I was constantly comparing my body to others. God has made me the way I am and he thinks I am perfect. I began to rethink my healthy lifestyle journey not as restricting and limited, but more as balance and a lifelong journey. It was time to learn self-control, proper serving sizes, and balance!

One of my biggest mistakes was jumping right in and make drastic changes and I can tell you now, it did not stick. I gave up when it came to holiday times and I began to become unmotivated. I was losing my focus and quickly picked back up on my old habits. The start of the year finally rolled around and I was ready to get back in the game. This time I’ve taken on a whole different approach when it comes to my healthy lifestyle. I’ve made small goals to focus on each month like working out 3 times a week minimum and introducing more vegetables into my diet. As the months go by I will focus on new habits and build upon my old ones. BBy doing this I’m not drastically changing my habits, but changing a few at a time, hopefully making me more successful in my attempts.
